Judge Ryan Scholarship
EAA Chapter 114 and Mid-American Pilots Association have created the Judge Ryan memorial scholarship to assist individual pursuing pilot training. The scholarship will be in perpetuity to memorialize Judge Ryan’s passion for aviation and 100% of funds will provide financial assistance to local individuals interested in pursuing pilot training.
Judge Ryan was a passionate about aviation and pursued his certification with a determined spirit. We want to share this passion with other who might not be able to afford the financial burden of learning to fly, but have the same work ethic.Judge Johanningsmeier's passion for flying will continue to endure through future generations of pilots.

The Judge Ryan Memorial Scholarship was established by EAA Chapter#114 in memory of Judge Ryan Johanningsmeier. The scholarship will provide funding for aspiring pilots and current pilots who are passionate about flying yet are financially limited in their ability to receive training. The goal of the scholarship is to promote aviation through our local flying club by making it accessible to those who might not otherwise have an opportunity to experience the joy of flight. The primary goal of the scholarship is to assist applicants in their attainment of their pilot license. The scholarship is a dollar for dollar match up to $2,500.00.
